The End Times, The Antichrist, and The Rapture
"Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book."
– Revelation 22:7
DID YOU KNOW?
The study of end-time prophecy has never been more important than it is today! That might sound a bit trite. But our generation literally stands on the brink of the Apocalypse. Indeed, sometime during the next few years – we believe – the judgments recorded in the book of Revelation will begin to unfold and mankind will be forced to endure a series of horrific catastrophes. Each of those judgments will take place during a seven-year epoch known as the Tribulation, and their collective impact will be so devastating that unless God puts a stop to it, not one person will be left alive (Mt. 24:22).
THE MERCY OF GOD
Obviously, there's a sense in which the Tribulation is meant to punish a wicked world for its sins. But its primary purpose is actually redemptive in nature. It is meant to cause people to turn from their iniquities and repent of their transgressions while there's still time for them to do so. God wants to save people, not destroy them. God takes no delight in the death of the wicked (Ez. 18:23, 32). Instead, God is rich in mercy (Eph. 2:4).
In fact, God has actually provided a way to escape the Tribulation altogether. It is called the Rapture. Just before the first round of judgments begins, Jesus will return for his Church and "rapture" her to heaven (1 Cor. 15:22). He will come for his Bride "in the twinkling of an eye," without any immediate warning. While the world at large enters into the "time of testing," the Church will be caught up to paradise and united with her Lord and Savior. She will then experience seven years of unparalleled bliss in the presence of God – a cosmic honeymoon!
THE $64,000 QUESTION
The question, of course, is: Who will be included in the Rapture? Who will be accounted "worthy to escape all these things...and to stand before the Son of Man"? Who is truly a member of the body of Christ?
According to the Lord, the answer is plain: The body of Christ includes only those people who have made a decision to stop serving sin, and start serving Him! It incorporates only those individuals who have repented of their transgressions and placed their trust in Jesus. It embraces only those men and women whose passion is to live pure lives, witness to others, and please God in all they do. Thus, the Rapture will encompass only those souls who truly love the Lord and prove it by the way they live (Mt. 7:21-24; Acts 2:37; James 1:27, 2:18)
WILL YOU BE THERE?
Sadly, however, the overwhelming majority of earth's population will fail to meet these qualifications. Instead, they will be left behind at the Rapture. And that includes many who call themselves "Christian" today – people who go to church but are distracted by the cares of this world, or have returned to a life of sin, or refuse to witness to others. Indeed, the vast majority of these "Christians" don't even want to hear about the Rapture because the very thought of Christ's return is too convicting.
Even worse, many pastors have actually exacerbated the situation by telling their flocks that it does not matter when Jesus will come back!
However, that's not what Jesus said. Instead, the Lord repeatedly commanded his followers to study the prophetic Word, because his return for the Church was imminent.
Indeed, the study of prophecy is so critical to the spiritual well-being of the Church that Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit with a special "commission" to guide us into all truth about the end times:
Why did Jesus place so much emphasis on prophecy and the days leading up to his return? Apparently, it was for three key reasons:
You see, the only way to avoid deception as we approach the end of the age is to know the truth. We must know the truth about the enemy, and we must know the truth about the judgments that are soon to come. Why? Because the more we know about the Apocalypse and the final enemies of Christ, the better we will be able to see the day approaching and spot the lies of the devil. And that, in turn, will enable us to stay close to Jesus in the face of increasing distractions and temptations:
OUR HOPE
At Prophecy7000 our hope is to bring glory to God by encouraging people to study his prophetic Word, and by making that Word easier to understand. Our goal is to motivate Christians to re-dedicate their lives to prayer, fasting, worship, and evangelization, seeing that our time is short. Nothing would be more pleasing to us than to see the faith of thousands of Christians re-ignited as they study Revelation, Daniel, and the other prophetic Scriptures with renewed energy and insight, followed by an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, such that tens of thousands of souls would be saved just in time for the Rapture.
Accordingly, we pledge to bring our visitors the latest analysis available on end-time characters and events, along with as much related material as possible. Here, you’ll find articles on the Antichrist, the False Prophet, the Whore of Babylon, the Rapture, and the Tribulation, along with the best books on Daniel and the Apocalypse (our personal recommendations!) We even offer quizzes, charts, videos, and other resources just to make it fun!
So, welcome to our humble corner of the internet! We hope it meets your expectations and satisfies your thirst for end-time knowledge. We pray, above all, that it deepens your devotion to Jesus of Nazareth and to the establishment of his kingdom. May God be praised in all things!
